Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol have teased ZNMD 2.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is one of Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar’s most successful films. Zoya had helmed the film back in 2011 and it emerged as one of the biggest films of the year. ZNMD continues to have a cult following, with many hoping that the cast reunites for a sequel. Looks like fans’ wishes might come true after all.
Farhan Akhtar recently teased about the film’s sequel with his Instagram post. Farhan shared a video of himself, Abhay Deol and Hrithik Roshan admiring the book, The Three Musketeers. He wrote, “Zoya Akhtar do you see the signs?? 🧐😜♥️” Have a look at the video here:
Ritesh Sidhwani, one of the producers of the film, wrote in the comments, “Let’s do this my Buoys! @faroutakhtar @abhaydeol @hrithikroshan.” Ritesh’s comment has further increased speculation that a sequel is on the cards soon. Several fans of the film took to the comments section to demand a sequel for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
Last year, Farhan Akhtar was asked about the possibility of ZNMD 2. Farhan told Raj Shamani, “Aapko Zoya Akhtar se poochna chahiye. A 100% I’ll do it. I’ll give my left arm to do it. Hrithik, Katrina, Abhay, everybody has told Zoya to please think of something. In all fairness, she’s hoping for that penny to drop.”
Zoya had also previously confirmed that Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol are interested in reuniting for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2. “Yes, this (ZNMD 2 discussions) comes up all the time, and everybody is interested.” She added, “That movie meant a lot to us. So, if we find that soul for part two, we will make it. We don’t want to do it just for money. When the audience comes to watch the second part, they will have a certain expectation, and we must give it to them; otherwise, they won’t be happy,” Zoya told ANI.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara revolved around three friends on a road trip, performing daring activities picked by each friend. This included participating in the Tomatina festival, skydiving, scuba diving, and taking part in the running of the bulls. The film was a massive hit. With an ensemble cast including Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, the story left a lasting impression on the audiences.
