A 23-year-old man died after falling into a ravine on the Thamarassery pass on Sunday (February 23). The deceased has been identified as Amal, a native of Thodannur near Valayam, Vadakara.
The incident occurred around 1.30 a.m. near the ninth hairpin curve on the pass. Amal was part of a group of 13 friends who were travelling to Wayanad. Amal reportedly stepped a few meters away from their parked vehicle and accidentally fell into the ravine.
A fire and rescue services team from Kalpetta retrieved Amal’s body and shifted it to the Kozhikode Medical College mortuary. Amal was employed as a driver with a private company in Kozhikode.
