After nearly 20 years of marriage, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett decided to live their lives independently under different roofs.

Although Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been living separately for nearly a decade, they remain deeply connected in each other’s lives. A close source recently revealed that despite living independently, the couple is far from severing their bond. “They are living their own lives, but they haven’t completely severed ties,” the insider shared with People.
Meanwhile, another source spoke with the aforementioned media outlet and revealed that Will and Jada “are still together.” However, as far as cohabiting concerns are concerned, the two “have had separate homes for years.” Sharing details about Will’s work front, the first source said, “Will is busy with film and music and doing okay,” adding that the actor-producer “is a bit disillusioned with Hollywood, but that could all change with some new success.”
For those who don’t know, Will and Jada got married in 1997 after meeting each other on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1995. They have two children: Jaden and Willow. Nearly 20 years after their marriage, Will and Jada started living separately.
Before the launch of her memoir Worthy in 2023, the Reign Over Me actress told the same media outlet that she and Will were “still figuring it out” regarding their marriage. She added, “We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got a deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.” Jada continued, “I’m going to be by his side … but also allow him to have to figure this out for himself.
On the other hand, in another interview with NBC’s Hoda Kotb, Jada Pinkett referenced the infamous Oscars incident in which her husband Will slapped Chris Rock after the latter cracked a joke about her. During the conversation, she mentioned that the incident brought them closer, further adding that they were in a “beautiful place” back then. She said, “We are not giving up on each other.”
“We love each other…We are figuring out right now, as we speak, what that looks like for us. But there’s no separation. There’s no, ‘we’re going to get divorced. I’m not giving up on that dude. And he’s not giving up on me. So, let’s just stop and let’s get to this deep healing and figure this out,” said Jada.
