A total of 104 illegal Indian immigrants were deported from the US. Families say they had invested large sums of money in the hope of securing a better future abroad. But all that is left now are shattered dreams.
The Indians deported from the US reached their respective hometowns on Thursday, a day after landing in Amritsar.
In order to pay agents who promised them jobs in US, families had to pay up lakhs of rupees by mortgaging land, property and borrowing money. They hope the government will do something to assist them.
