Thodiyoor Muhammed Kunju Moulavi, State general secretary of the Dakshina Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, has said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-controlled Bharatiya Janata Party regime is making a secret attempt to destroy the country’s Constitution and bring in Manusmriti through the Waqf amendment.
He was inaugurating a public meeting in Kollam on Monday after a Waqf protection rally organised by the Social Democratic Party of India with the slogan ‘Waqf Protection for Social Security’. He added that the very existence of the Constitution is being destroyed through the Waqf amendment.
“The Waqf amendment Bill is posing a threat to the country’s Constitution and destroying it. World nations respect India’s rulers because India follows democracy and secularism. India is a garden of diversity. Places of worship, including mosques, temples, churches, and gurudwaras, are symbols of secularism. Any aggression against any one of these is a challenge to the country’s Secularism,” he said.
