Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi Box Office Collection Report Day 9:

Ajith Kumar’s action-packed thriller Vidaamuyarchi is on fire at the box office. After nine days in theatres, the film has stormed past the Rs 127 crore mark worldwide. It had earned a whopping Rs 26 crore net on the opening day. However, Vidaamuyarchi’s earnings took a dip on Valentine’s Day as it managed to mint only Rs 1.47 crore on Friday.

On February 15, Vidaamuyarchi pulled in a solid Rs 88 crore in gross earnings in India while its impressive run in overseas markets has added another Rs 39 crore to the tally. The film’s unstoppable momentum continues to fuel its massive box office success worldwide.

On its ninth day, Vidaamuyarchi added an estimated Rs 1.5 crore to its box office haul. The Tamil Nadu market remains the film’s biggest strength, contributing Rs 73.4 crore to the total collection. The action thriller also recorded an overall Tamil occupancy of 22.71 per cent on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi released in theatres on February 6, 2025. It is a remake of the 1997 American film Breakdown. The film follows the journey of a man on a high-stakes mission to rescue his wife, who has been abducted by a dangerous group in Azerbaijan.

A part of the review of Vidaamuyarchi by News18 read, “Vidaamuyarchi is largely engaging throughout despite the predictability, and the credit goes to Magizh Thirumeni, who is exceptional in his smooth expositions. One gets more intrigued about how the story is told than what is being told, as what of it is pretty straightforward. He doesn’t deviate much from all tropes of this genre film of survival. There is a ploy involved with twists that aren’t surprising but interesting. On top of everything, the action set pieces become the icing on the cake. There is one inside a moving car, that keeps one on the edge of the seat. The top camera angle of the fight sequence is the chef’s kiss. The same can be said about all the technical aspects of the film, which at times is, unfortunately, too clinical, making things a bit plastic.”

Ajith Kumar, 53, is a powerhouse of Southern cinema with over 60 blockbuster films under his belt, including iconic hits like Aasai, Kadhal Kottai, Citizen, Villain, Varalaru, and Billa. His latest action thriller Vidaamuyarchi features an impressive ensemble cast, including Trisha, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra.
