Vicky Kaushal’s latest historical actioner released in theatres on February 14 and ever since, it has been roaring at the box office. According to the makers, Chhaava collected Rs 33 crore on Day 1, the biggest Hindi opener of 2025. This is Vicky’s biggest opening as a leading man till date as well.

Kaushal is now getting full Rajinikanth-type treatment with the fan frenzy surrounding the film. Viral videos show fans pouring milk over giant Chhaava posters and performing aarti. Vicky took to his Instagram handle to share a video wherein fans are seen pouring milk on Chhaava’s poster. They are seen chanting “Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj ki Jai.”

After a solid opening, the Laxman Utekar-directorial has maintained its momentum on Day 2, February 15. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava collected more than Rs 60 crore net in India. It had crossed the Rs 50-crore mark worldwide on its opening day. According to reports, Chhaava raked in an impressive Rs 36.5 crore net on its first Saturday, pushing its two-day total to Rs 67.5 crore net, as per early estimates.

Chhaava is a biographical historical action film based on the life of Maratha Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. It is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. Backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the film boasts a stellar cast alongside Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. The film also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb and Diana Penty as his daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. Vicky steps into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika portrays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale.
