Vicky Kaushal is basking under the success of his recently released film Chhaava. The historical drama is winning hearts. Today, the actor, who is set to portray Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, marked Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti with a special visit to Raigad Fort. He paid tribute to the great Maratha warrior and also shared glimpses on social media.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Vicky shared photos in which he is seen wearing ethnic wear and sporting a turban. “Today on the occasion of #ChhatrapatiShivajiJayanti, I had the good fortune of paying my respects at #RaigadFort. It was my first time here and there couldn’t have been a better time to come and take blessings from Maharaj. आप सभी को छत्रपति शिवाजी जयंती की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ! जय जिजाऊ, जय शिवराय, जय शंभू |” read the caption. In the photos, Vicky is seen giving tribute to the stature of Shivaji. He is also seen fitting turban on a small girl kid.

The film is receiving rave reviews from fans and celebs alike and the box office collections are through the roof. Recently, the Mumbai Dabbawala Association had appealed to the Maha CM to declare the film tax-free in the state. Moreover, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) also wrote a letter to Fadnavis requesting him to declare Chhaava, tax-free in the state.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is a period drama based on the life of the legendary Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky steps into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire’s founder. Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna portrays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava earned Rs 24.50 crore on its fifth day, bringing its total collection to Rs 165 crore. While the film has maintained a double-digit hold, its earnings have declined compared to previous days.
