Vicky Kaushal has been getting immense love for his performance in the newly released Chhaava. The historical epic is proving to be a crowd-puller, refusing to slow down at the box office. It has become the biggest Hindi opener of 2025 after its release on February 14. Reacting to their love, Vicky shared an emotional note and thanked everyone.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Vicky shared a note reading, “दिल भर आया है आप सबका प्यार देख कर…Thank you so much!” According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava collected more than Rs 60 crore net in India. It had crossed the Rs 50-crore mark worldwide on its opening day. According to reports, Chhaava raked in an impressive Rs 36.5 crore net on its first Saturday, pushing its two-day total to Rs 67.5 crore net, as per early estimates. The film kicked off with a massive Rs 31 crore on its opening day, setting a new Valentine’s Day record by surpassing Gully Boy, which debuted at Rs 19.40 crore. The Hindi version of the film also saw a strong overall occupancy of 44.18 per cent.

Before Chhaava stormed the box office, Sky Force, featuring Akshay Kumar and newcomer Veer Pahariya, held the record for the biggest Hindi opening of 2025 with a collection of Rs 15.3 crore.
Helmed by Laxman Utekar and backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Chhaava boasts a stellar cast alongside Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. The film also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb and Diana Penty as his daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. Vicky steps into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika portrays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. Adding to the film’s appeal is the mesmerizing music and background score composed by the legendary AR Rahman.
Chhaava is a biographical historical action film based on the life of Maratha Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. It is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant.
Apart from this, Vicky will be next seen in Love And War with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The shoot is going on currently.
