Vicky Kaushal is riding high on the success of Chhaava. The periodical drama has left everyone impressed and the audience is in awe of his performance. Well, recently, he was seen gracing an event in Mumbai and shared a funny incident with Asha Bhosle. She was also present at the event. It has gone viral.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Vicky expressed gratitude towards the Maharashtra government for inviting him. He then said,, “Asha mam baithi thi waha pe. Unhone bahut hi darr ke saath meri taraf dekha aur mujhse pucha ‘tum bhi kavita padhoge’. Meine kaha ‘han’. She seemed surprised and questioned, “Marathi madhe? Meine kaha, ‘haan’. Asha mam mhantle ‘Tauba Tauba.'”

The historical action drama, directed by Laxman Utekar, is inching closer to the Rs 400 crore milestone in India. Since its release on February 14, the film has maintained a strong hold, benefitting from holidays and positive word of mouth.
According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 21.75 crore on day 13, taking its total Indian net collection to Rs 385 crore. The Maha Shivratri holiday boosted footfalls, as the film saw an increase from Rs 18.5 crore on day 12 to Rs 21.75 crore on day 13. The film had an overall 34.10% occupancy in Hindi, with morning shows recording 25.23%, afternoon 40.64%, and evening 36.42%.
Based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel, Chhaava chronicles the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. The film also features Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Diana Penty in pivotal roles.
Adding to its success, Chhaava is now set to release in Telugu. The news was announced by Maddock Films on Wednesday, with a poster of Vicky as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The Telugu version will hit cinemas on March 7, distributed by Geetha Arts.
With its stellar run at the box office, Chhaava shows no signs of slowing down.
