Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, who is riding high on the success of his last project Marco, is gearing up for the release of his upcoming venture Get Set Baby. Even before its release, the film is already creating a huge buzz among cinephiles. Now, further piquing the interest of movie buffs, the makers released the trailer of the film on February 16. Packed with drama, humour and romance, the comedy-drama film is all set to hit the theatres on Friday, February 21.

Unni Mukundan took to his official Instagram handle to share the trailer alongside the caption, “Presenting the official trailer of #GetSetBaby! This heartwarming family entertainer is all set to hit the big screens on February 21—gather your family and friends for a fun-filled movie experience, you won’t want to miss it!”

As the movie inches closer to its grand release, let’s delve into the details of the Unni Mukundan film. Directed by Vinay Govind, Get-Set Baby features an ensemble cast including Unni Mukundan, Surabhi Lakshmi, Johny Antony, Nikhila Vimal, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sudheesh and Shyam Mohan in prominent roles. The film is produced by Sajiv Soman, Suunil Jain and Prakshali Jain, with composer Sam CS scoring the music.

Talking about the technical team, the cinematography is handled by Alex J Pulickal, while editing is done by Arju Benn. The screenplay is written by YV Rajesh and Anoop Ravindran.

The film touted to be a family entertainer stars Unni Mukundan as a gynaecologist. The Vinay Govind directorial addresses the various challenges around sexual health stigma and surrogacy. In the film, Nikhila Vimal will play the female lead, who seems to have a conflict with Unni Mukundan’s character, likely stemming from misunderstandings.

The trailer begins with Unni Mukundan’s character, Arjun, saying, “Children are blessings from God.” The clip then takes viewers to his college days and shows that Unni was the only male student in an MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology class. In the present day, Arjun was working in a hospital surrounded by female colleagues and friends. There he meets Nikhila Vimal’s character, who called him an “egocentric, male chauvinist.” Despite her initial doubts, her opinion about Arjun slowly changed, leading to a romance filled with several ups and downs. Beyond the love story, the film delves into the challenges faced by both Arjun and Nikhila’s characters, forming the main hook of the story.
