The Congress government in Telangana is struggling to source funds for meeting the challenge of implementing the various promises and guarantees made to the people before the Assembly elections, said Telangana BJP president and Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday.

Telangana is facing a dire financial situation and the government is unable to garner funds for its pet schemes even as the key education and health sectors have been drastically hit, he told a campaign meeting at Bhongir for the MLC polls.

Stating that ensuring the victory of the BJP candidates in the polls is “very important for the future of Telangana and its development”, Mr. Kishan Reddy said neither the ruling party nor the BRS party have the guts to seek votes of the teachers, who had played a key role in the separate State agitation.

The BRS government lead by K. Chandrasekhar Rao has reduced the importance of the Legislative Council and ensured that the entire flock of Congress MLCs shift loyalties to his party. “KCR behaved like a dictator when in power, banned any protest meetings and did not bother to give an appointment to teachers representatives,” he pointed out.

The Congress government, on the other hand, has cheated people by going back on the promise to implement guarantees within 100 days of coming to power, it has denied DA to the employees and is yet to announce the formation of a Pay Revision Commission (PRC). There is also no word on the promised stipend to the unemployed youth and job calendar to fill up vacant posts, he said, and reeled out various schemes of the Modi Government over the years for the development of TG.
