An engineering student was killed in an accident on Anjanapura Main Road Thursday late night. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Gautam, 20, hailing from Kolar.
He was pursuing BTech at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering.
According to Talaghattapura police, the victim along with his classmate Chirag were returning to their paying guest accommodation in Raghuvanahalli after meeting their friends in Anjanapura when the bike they traveled lost control and rammed into a median.
The victim, riding pillion, sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Chirag also suffered injuries and is being treated at a private hospital, the police said.
The police said that overspeeding could have been the reason for the accident.
