Here’s some exciting news for all the Taylor Swift fans in India! News18 Showsha has exclusively learnt that the globally popular singer is likely to perform in India for the first time soon. She has been approached to perform during the pre-wedding festivities of businessman Gautam Adani’s son, Jeet Adani.
“Yes, this is true. Taylor Swift’s team is in talks with the Adanis to perform at one of the pre-wedding festivities of Jeet Adani and Diva Shah. Even though Taylor has not confirmed her presence as of now, talks are underway and looks like the grand wedding will mark her first performance in India,” an insider told us.
Gautam Adani’s son, Jeet Adani, got engaged to Diva Shah in March 2023. Their engagement was a low-key ceremony in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The two are likely to tie the knot later this year.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is known for songs like Cruel Summer, Blank Space, Love Story, Lover and Shake It Off among others. Even though she enjoys a massive fan following in India, she has never performed in the country. India was not on the list of Swift’s recently concluded Eras Tour as well. Swift’s tour only included Singapore and Japan in Asia.
However, Taylor is not unaware of her popularity in India. In 2014, she was promoting her album 1989, when she acknowledged her Indian fan following and mentioned in interviews that she was aware of her large and enthusiastic fan base here.
In the same year, she expressed her desire to do a Bollywood movie. “Indian cinema has a lot of music and dance, which excites me. I think Indians share a big passion for song and dance in the movies, which I love. It is a great way of connecting with the audience,” she had said while speaking to the Hindustan Times.
