
Guwahati, Feb 25: Tata Group chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran on Tuesday announced plans for a major investment in Assam, including a new electronics manufacturing unit and projects in the green energy sector.
Speaking at the Advantage Assam business summit, Chandrasekaran emphasized the group’s strong ties with the state. He highlighted the upcoming Rs 27,000 crore semiconductor unit in Jagiroad, calling it the largest investment in Assam to date.
Expanding its presence further, Tata Group will set up another large electronics manufacturing unit in the coming years. The company will also collaborate with the Assam government on renewable energy initiatives, focusing on solar and other sustainable power projects.
