A team of officials drawn from various departments has been deputed to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Bengaluru to undertake a three-day training programme on data analytics.

The officials have been drawn from Mudhalvarin Mugavari, Cooperation, Economics and Statistics, Treasuries and Accounts, Commercial Taxes and Registration, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Human Resources Management and Agriculture Departments, an official release said.

Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, Greater Chennai Corporation, Directorate of Town Panchayats, TANGEDCO and State Crime Records Bureau have also sent their officials to undergo the training programme titled ‘Business Analytics – Science of Data Driven Decision Making’ that commenced on Wednesday.

In June last year, the Tamil Nadu government announced in the Assembly that it would train its officials in data analytics to ensure all its welfare programmes reached the intended beneficiaries and to find out if eligible beneficiaries have been left out from the ambit of these programmes.
