Just a day after Swara Bhasker publicly called out X (formerly Twitter) for permanently suspending her account over alleged copyright infringement, the actor revealed another shocking twist—her account appears to have been hacked. Swara took to Instagram to share updates, along with screenshots of messages from X’s support team.
Expressing her frustration, Swara posted, “And now… my Twitter/X account, it would seem, HAS BEEN HACKED!” She also uploaded a series of notes detailing the ordeal, calling it “more drama” with her X account. According to her, she was locked out of her account on January 30 due to a copyright violation claim. However, when she attempted to regain access, she discovered that two-factor authentication had been disabled without her knowledge.
The situation took an even more alarming turn when she received an email on January 31, informing her that an unknown individual had been granted a delegation invite from her account. This unauthorized access meant that the unknown entity could now send direct messages, create lists and groups, and even post from her profile. Swara firmly denied sending such an invite, stating, “The blue tick verified account @ReallySwara is still visible on X, but I now have no access to it. It seems my account has been hacked.”
On Thursday, Swara further revealed that her X account was suspended due to a Republic Day post. Expressing disbelief, she wrote, “(You can’t make this stuff up!!!!) Dear X, two images from two tweets have been marked as ‘copyright infringements,’ based on which my account has been locked/disabled, and your teams have approved its permanent suspension.” She also pointed out that if the tweets were mass reported, it was a targeted attempt to harass her and suppress her freedom of speech.
One of the flagged posts reportedly featured a picture of her daughter with Republic Day wishes, while the other contained the slogan “Gandhi Hum Sharmindaa hain, Tere qaatil zinda hain”—a widely recognized chant from India’s progressive movement.
Swara, last seen in the 2022 film Mimamsa, is set to make her return to the screen in Mrs. Falani. However, for now, she finds herself entangled in a digital battle over her social media presence.
