The Swami Vivekanandan Yuva Prathibha Awards instituted by the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board to encourage young talents in various fields were announced here on Wednesday. Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian announced the awards at a press conference.
B. Muhammed Shabir who has been con-ordinating the activities of the Gandhi Bhavan and Sneha Veedu in Haripad and is part of various socio-welfare programmes has been chosen for the award for social activism.
Powerlifter V.P. Anakha and national rowing champion D. Devapriya shared the sporting awards in the women’s category while bodybuilder Shinu Chovva won the award in the men’s category. R. Roshan and Arunima Krishnan won the awards in the media category, while dancer K.A. Aishwarya won the award in the arts category. King Johns won the award in the literature category, K. Njanasaravanan in the agriculture category and K.A. Ansiya in the entreprenurship category.
