Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K. Sudhakaran has defended Shashi Tharoor, Thiruvananthapuram MP, over the controversy related to his recent newspaper article on the reported growth of start-ups and the improvement in ease of doing business in the State.
Mr. Sudhakaran told the media here on Wednesday that there was nothing wrong in what Mr. Tharoor said. “There were some slight problems in a statement that he made. It is our responsibility to suppress them. I had spoken to Mr. Tharoor and we, the party, have decided not to take it further. The episode is finished,” he said. Mr. Sudhakaran also claimed that Mr. Tharoor “had not done any great harm” to the party. “He has not said any grave things. The media is interpreting it too much to take it to another level,” Mr. Sudhakaran said.
