A major portion of the 30 sovereigns of gold ornaments which were stolen by burglars from a house was found abandoned near the same house at Kumaranellur near Mukkom in Kozhikode district on Thursday. The abandoned ornaments were found inside a laundry bucket near the house.
According to the complainants, they got back about 28 sovereigns of stolen gold ornaments. Later, they handed them over to the Mukkom police for the completion of legal formalities.
The theft took place on February 22 when the family members were away for attending a marriage.
