Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday inaugurated infrastructure projects and welfare schemes amounting to ₹1,476 crore in Cuddalore district.
He inaugurated a total of 602 completed projects and laid the foundation stone for 178 new ones.
The notable projects among those completed include a drinking water initiative benefiting 6.8 lakh people in Kurunjipadi-Vadalur-Thittakudi areas of Cuddalore district.
He also handed over 550 tenements and dedicated a new bus stand at Kurinjipadi.
The Chief Minister also distributed welfare assistance to around 44,000 people.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Stalin said the DMK government was committed to the development of Cuddalore and that it had always prioritised the district’s development.
He announced the decision to develop the Wellington Lake in Tittakudi at a cost of ₹130 core.
The government would spend around ₹61 crore for the development of Veeranam Lake and ₹50 crore for the widening of Mutlur- Sethiathope into four lanes, he said.
