Filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who is shooting for his upcoming project SSMB29 starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, has found himself in the middle of a controversy after Uppalapati Srinivasa Rao, a man claiming to be his longtime friend, made serious allegations against him.
In a letter to the Mettuguda police, Srinivasa Rao said he has known Rajamouli since 1990 and accused him of ruining his life and causing him distress. He claimed their falling out was due to a triangular love story. In a video, he claimed, “I have no option but to die by suicide. Rajamouli is the reason I am still single at 55. We worked together until Yamadonga, but he ruined my career for a woman.”
Srinivasa Rao said he feels hopeless and blamed Rajamouli for his being single at 55, claiming the director has tormented him over a woman. He admitted he has no proof of his claims and even suggested thoughts of ending his life.
As of now, Rajamouli and his team have not responded to these allegations, and many are waiting to see how he will handle the situation.
Srinivasa claimed he had a 34-year friendship with Rajamouli, but it turned sour because of a love triangle with a woman. He claimed that Rajamouli initially loved her, but then he also fell for her. To keep their friendship intact, Srinivasa said he gave up his feelings for her.
He asked the police to give Rajamouli a lie detector test and accused the director of using black magic and undermining other filmmakers. It’s unclear if Srinivasa received help after his video was posted online. Meanwhile, Rajamouli has not responded to these serious claims.
