Looks like Sofia Carson is as mesmerised by BTS’ Park Jimin as the rest of the world. In a recent interview, the American actress, who is known for her incredible achievement, could not stop praising the K-pop idol’s kind nature and mannerisms. The 31-year-old actor-singer collaborated with Jimin for the song Slow Dance from his second studio album Muse, which was released back in July 2024.
In a conversation with Hello! Magazine, Sofia shared that the offer for collaboration came in the most heartwarming way. She revealed that the BTS star had watched her hit film Purple Hearts and was impressed by her voice. “Jimin watched Purple Hearts, true story. I was told that he loved the sound of my voice, and he thought it would be the perfect fit for him,” she added.
Sofia plays Cassie Salazar, a waitress-bartender who performs with her band, The Loyal, at a bar in California. She meets a US Marine Luke Morrow (Nicholas Galitzine), and gets married in order to receive military benefits and pay their debts. She not only starred in the film but also performed and co-wrote all eight songs on the soundtrack alongside Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter.
The songs impressed BTS’ Jimin and what followed was a dream opportunity for Sofia. Speaking about the experience of working with him, the actress said, “I know that Jimin is a very special person, and he has a beautiful heart, and they want to make sure that everyone that collaborates with him feels like they match him in that sense and I was so honoured when they told me that.”
The Carry On actress highlighted that it was “a beautiful experience”, further revealing that the BTS star’s team had her “flew me out to Seoul to shoot the video together. Sofia reiterated that BTS’ Jimin “is just the kindest heart and I’m so grateful.”
When asked if there is a chance for another collaboration between her and the K-pop idol, Sofia played it coy, saying, “We’ll see.” However, she shared her admiration for K-pop, noting that all the four girls of BLACKPINK are “killing it.” Sofia added that she would love to work with any of the members as she is “super into what they are doing.”
Speaking of her work front, Sofia has been named a Screen Actors Guild award ambassador for 2025 alongside actor Noah Centineo, recognised for her positive influence and advocacy. Meanwhile, the actress is looking forward to the release of her film The Life List.
