
The budgetary allocations for the Information and Broadcasting Ministry recorded a slight decline from ₹4,626.71 crore to ₹4,358.38 crore this year.
While proposed funds for the establishment expenditure of the Ministry are pegged at ₹142.70 crore, some ₹38.27 crore for Art and Culture, and ₹401.53 crore for Information and Publicity have been allocated.
The government has allocated ₹500 crore for broadcasting infrastructure network development, ₹363 crore for development communication and dissemination of filmic content, ₹238 crore for the development communication and information dissemination, and ₹17.40 crore for supporting community radio movement.
Prasar Bharati has been allocated ₹2,379.70 crore; Film and Television Institute of India (Pune) ₹89.11 crore; Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (Kolkata) ₹52.45 crore; Indian Institute of Mass Communication ₹108.65 crore; Press Council of India ₹10.48 crore; and National Film Development Corporation ₹17 crore.
