The Shivamogga, Davangere, and Chitradurga District Cooperative Milk Producers Society Union (SHIMUL) has increased the milk procurement price by ₹2 per kg with effect from February 1. The revised price will be in effect up to March 31, 2025.

The union took this decision in a meeting held on Friday, headed by the union chairman H.N. Vidyadhar.

The union has revised the procurement price to be paid to cooperative societies from ₹32.09 per kg to ₹34.18 per kg. Further, the cooperative societies will be procuring milk from producers at ₹32.22 per kg against the prevailing ₹30.13 per kg.

During the summer season, the yield of milk will be less, and the cost of milk production will be high. Considering the burden on milk producers, the union decided to revise the procurement price. This will benefit milk producers in Shivamogga, Davangere, and Chitradurga, said a press release.
