Sanya Malhotra attended the screening of Sky Force last night in Mumbai. The film, featuring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, is based on India’s retaliatory strike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War. Impressed by the film, Sanya shared an elaborate note on Instagram Stories. In her note, she heaped praises on director Abhishek Anil Kapur who is making a debut through the patriotic drama. The film also marks Veer Pahariya’s Bollywood debut.
The note read, “Sky force is truly a force to reckon with! I’m beyond proud of my friend for his incredible debut as a director. Abhishek Kapur and I first met on the Dangal set and it’s been amazing to watch this journey and growth over the years. Shek, mere bhaiiii you have come such a long way and I couldn’t be happier for you. Congratulations on this beautiful new beginning, the sky is the limit for you! Wishing you all the success and love.”
Sanya Malhotra’s long-awaited film Mrs has finally partnered with an OTT platform in India after several years of participating in film festivals. Directed by Aarti Kadav, the award-winning film is set to release on ZEE5.
Earlier this week, the makers of Mrs released the official teaser. It also featured Kanwaljit Singh and Nishant Dahiya in important roles. Notably, Mrs is a remake of the Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen (2021) which was headlined by Nimisha Sajayan.
The description attached to the teaser posted on YouTube read, “A woman finds her voice and dreams lost when she marries a middle-class doctor and is expected to become a housewife. What happens next? Coming Soon!”
Sanya Malhotra also has Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari in her kitty. Helmed by Shashank Khaitan, the film also stars Rohit Saraf.
A source close to the film informed Pinkvilla, “It’s a pure family entertainer with romance in its backdrop, much like the kind of films that Shashank has made over the years. The premise of SSKTK is very close to the kind of films that Dharma is known for, as it celebrates love with colour, music, scale, and a strong star cast.”
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will be released on April 18.
