Sankranthiki Vasthunam, featuring Venkatesh Daggubati, has been a major hit at the box office since its January 14 release, grossing over Rs 150 crore in India. With its continued success in theatres, reports indicate that producer Dil Raju is considering delaying the film’s OTT release to capitalise on its ongoing theatrical momentum.

According to OTTPlay, ZEE5 secured the digital rights to Sankranthiki Vasthunam for Rs 30 crore, with the initial agreement setting the OTT release for the second week of February 2025. However, given the film’s continued success at the box office, grossing Rs 157 crore within 13 days and over Rs 200 crore globally, producer Dil Raju is reportedly reconsidering the release timeline. Fearing that an early OTT debut might impact its ongoing theatrical performance, discussions are underway with the streaming platform to postpone the digital release.

Owing to the success of the Telugu film, the producers threw a success party for the cast and crew a few days back. The official X handle of Sri Venkateswara Creations provided several glimpses of the party, attended by Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar. The caption read, “A blockbuster reunion of CHINNODU –PEDDODU. From appreciating to celebrating #BlockbusterSankranthikiVasthunam together.”

Sankranthiki Vasthunam is an action-comedy that revolves around a former IPS officer who leads a quiet life with his wife. However, his peaceful existence is disrupted when a high-profile kidnapping case emerges, and his ex-girlfriend seeks his help. As they collaborate to solve the case, the officer’s wife, uncertain of her husband’s loyalty, decides to join them in the investigation.

Venkatesh Daggubati stars as the lead, with Aishwarya Rajesh portraying his wife and Meenakshi Chaudhary playing his ex-girlfriend. The cast also includes Upendra Limaye, Srinivasa Reddy, Naresh, and others. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, with music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, the film is produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.
