Sankranthiki Vasthunam, starring Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role along with Priyanka Mohanan and Aishwarya Rajesh, is showing no sign of slowing down at the box office. The film minted a stellar Rs 152 crore approx at the Indian box office during its ten-day extended first week. The film performed well not only during the holiday period but also managed to earn a sufficient amount even after that. As for its global income, the film has grossed Rs 29.50 crore (USD 3.40 million), making a worldwide gross of Rs 182 crore. Given its blockbuster performance in theatres, the film is expected to cross the Rs 200 crore mark over the weekend.

Given its box-office collection, it is safe to say that the film made the most out of the Sankranti which is believed to be an incredibly lucrative release period in the particular belt. Such was the response that the film even turned out to be the fastest earner of all time, even surpassing the giants like RRR, Pushpa 2 and Baahubali 2.
During the ten days, Sankranthiki Vasthunam grossed Rs 140 crore plus in the Telugu states. Before the film, the top two highest-grossing Sankranti releases in the Telugu states were AVPL and Waltair Veeraya with a gross collection of Rs 196 crore and Rs 171 crore respectively. Seems like the latest release will easily surpass Waltair Veeraya’s box-office collection comfortably. That too, in the second week of its release itself.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam hit the theatres on January 14 and has been running successfully ever since. Owing to the Telugu film’s success, the makers hosted a party, with the film’s team and stars in attendance. The official X handle of Sri Venkateswara Creations gave a peek into the success party of Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Mahesh Babu also attended the party and looked handsome in a black shirt teamed with denim pants and a red cap. His wife, Namrata Shirodkar, also joined him for the bash.
ICYDK, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is an action-comedy about the story of a former IPS officer who finds himself indulged in a high-profile kidnapping case at his ex-girlfriend’s insistence. The plot takes an investing turn as his wife, suspicious of her husband’s loyalty, also joins them.
