Samantha Ruth Prabhu seldom shies away from speaking her mind and often shares reflective posts on her social media, giving her fans food for thought. Recently the actress shared a viral speech from 2023 that was a brilliant and crisp guide on how to spot an idiot.

The speech shared by the 37-year-old actress was given by two-term Illinois governor and businessman J.B. Pritzker during his welcome address at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 2023. The viral speech that took inspiration from the American sitcom The Office gave a lesson in humanity, which Pritzker said is a prerequisite for success.

He noted that the best way to identify an idiot was by spotting the person who behaved most cruelly. When we see someone who doesn’t look like us or lives with us, we either feel fear or judgment, or both. This is because of evolution that has helped the human species survive for centuries. However, the governor urged, “Empathy and compassion are evolved states of being. They require the mental capacity to step past our most primal urges.”

Highlighting the importance of being kind, Pritzker added that those cruel never forced their animal brain to evolve past its first instinct and so their imagination lacks the creativity that kind people may have in abundance. He concluded, “Over my many years in politics and business, I have found one thing to be universally true—the kindest person in the room is often the smartest.”

Meanwhile, Samatha recently engaged with her fans in a Q & A on her Instagram where she revealed her favourite actresses from the film industry. Reacting to a fan’s question, the Citadel: Honey Bunny actress praised Parvathy Thiruvothu for her role in Ullozhukku, Nazriya Nazim for Sookshmadarshini, and Sai Pallavi for Amaran. She also mentioned Hindi film heroines and appreciated Alia Bhatt for Jigra and Ananya Panday for CTRL. Samantha also mentioned the cast of All We Imagine As Light, including Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha. She finally noted that she might have missed a few names and called these actresses ‘amazing rockstars’.

On the work front, Samantha is gearing up for her third web series Rakt Brahmand with directors Raj & DK after The Family Man 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny. The thriller series also features Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
