Saif Ali Khan has now been discharged from the hospital.
Saif Ali Khan is currently resting at home. The Bollywood superstar was finally discharged from the Lilavati Hospital on January 21, 2025, days after he was attacked brutally with a knife by an intruder in his Bandra home. It was Jeh’s nanny, Eliyamma Philip, who first spotted the intruder and raised an alarm. The attacker also assaulted her before stabbing Saif Ali Khan.
According to fresh reports now, Khan and Kareena Kapoor plan to reward Eliyamma Philip for her courageous act during the attack on January 16. India Today report suggests that Saif wanted to meet Phillip personally as soon as he reached home to thank her for protecting him. She had allegedly placed herself between Khan and the attacker.
Phillip has provided her statement to the police as she is an important witness in the ongoing investigation. At 2:30 am, Saif was rushed to the Lilavati hospital for medical treatment as he six stab wounds. During the surgery, doctors removed a three-inch-long knife from his back. Eliyamma Phillip also received treatment for her injuries as she had thrown herself between Saif and the intruder.
Earlier today, Saif’s sister, Saba Pataudi, had also thanked Jeh’s nanny with a heartfelt note on social media. Saba took to her Instagram stories to share a collage of pictures with their two female staff members. In the first picture, Jeh’s nanny was seen posing with Saba while the other photo featured another staff member who allegedly helped Saif tackle the robber.
She wrote, “The unsung heroes…who literally pulled their weight when it mattered the most! Bless you both m ALL those who contributed in keeping my brother n his family safe!You are the BEST!” Saba also added a text GIF that read, “you are our HERO!”
The Mumbai Police have arrested the attacker, Bangladeshi resident Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, 30. Explaining how the accused managed to enter the house where the Khan family live with their children and domestic staff, an official had said earlier, “He entered the duct area, climbed to the 12th floor using a pipe and entered the actor’s flat through a bathroom window. He then came out from the bathroom, where the actor’s staff spotted him, leading to the chain of events that culminated into the knife attack.”
Saif Ali Khan has also employed the services of actor Ronit Roy’s security firm.
