Renowned singer Sabrina Carpenter has taken the world by storm with her chart-topping songs. In April 2024, the Grammy award singer rolled out a new song, Espresso, which became one of the most listened-to songs in her discography with millions of streams on Spotify. With time, the song received massive love and support from her fans, still reigning on the playlists of many. Despite becoming one of her biggest successes, the musician revealed to have second thoughts about Espresso.

The video, doing the rounds on social media, showed Sabrina expressing that she actually ‘regrets’ writing the song as it was difficult to perform live while sticking to the choreography.

In the clip, she says, “Espresso is a little harder for me again because of the short breath control and just how precise some of the notes are. And when I was in the studio, I was like, ‘This is fun,’ ‘I love this song,’ and then once I got on stage, I was like, ‘This is kind of hard,’ like, ‘Why did I write this song?’”

As soon as the video gained traction online, fans were quick to take to the comments section of the clip and express their thoughts on the song.

“Ya performing on stage is sooooo different from just making music,” said a fan.

An individual stated, “This is kinda hard. That’s what she said.”

“I remember hearing it the first time (seconds after the music video dropped on YouTube) and thinking ‘this is gonna be hard to sing live’,” added another.

An account remarked, “The struggle of an artist that pushes herself.”

“Why are we hating? She literally just said it was hard to sing live while dancing…” commented a fan.

An Instagram user wrote, “This is the realest thing ever.”

“I find it weird when artists say “why did I write it this way” or “when I wrote” and 9/10 times there’s multiple writers,” said a user.

At present, Sabrina Carpenter wrapped up the North American leg of her Short n’ Sweet tour concert. Next, she is gearing up for an electrifying performance in Dublin, Ireland, on March 3 and March 4.
