Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, are counted amongst the ‘IT’ couples of Bollywood. They have worked together in three films of the Fukrey franchise from 2013 to 2023. Now, the lovebirds are also parents to a baby girl, Zuneyra Ida Fazal. And now, as they made a mysterious post on Instagram, it seems the duo is all set to announce their upcoming collaboration.
On their respective Instagram stories, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal shared a mysterious teaser, promising their fans a major announcement tomorrow, February 18. The power couple, known for their unconventional choices on-screen, sparked intrigue with their cryptic yet adorable video. It featured the two of them all decked up in stunning suits while gazing at one other. Atop the video, the caption read, “Ready for a little romance? Announcing tomorrow!” Alongside this, they also added the iconic song Chabi Kho Jaye in the background. Altogether, the post left their fans wondering what was cooking.
It is unclear if the post hints at the couple’s reunion on the silver screen or yet another project under the banner of their production house or something related to their personal lives.
For those unaware, Richa and Ali co-founded a production house named Pushing Buttons Studios to support emerging talents and explore different genres. So far, it has already captivated the minds of their audiences with films alike. The couple’s debut production, Girls Will Be Girls, a coming-of-age drama, was even premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024. On the global platform, the film received the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award. Another project of the production house includes Papita, a crime thriller directed by Akash Bhatia. And as per reports, an upcoming production of the couple is tentatively titled Saste Kaatil.
On Valentine’s Day, Richa Chadha announced the love story, Akhri Somvaar. The new dramedy will explore the themes of love and societal pressures of a reality TV producer’s journey. Here, the actress will be starring herself in the pivotal role of the producer, who gets desperate to marry after being called a ‘childless cat lady’.
Coming to Richa and Ali’s personal life, they met on the sets of Fukrey in 2012 and soon felt a spark between them. They began dating in 2015 and got married in 2017. Last year, on July 16, the lovebirds embraced parenthood after welcoming their first child.
