All eligible doctors in Tripura have to be registered with the Tripura State Medical Council. The council has made the provision mandatory.
The council has issued a fresh advisory for doctors to complete the registration process at the earliest. All, including those in government medical services,in private practice and fresh graduates need to sign up with the state medical council.
The council’s Chairman Dr. Sushanta Roy informed that 3,804 doctors have registered with them and 1,022 of them are employed in government service.
Mr. Roy said that many doctors have not completed registration, but they should do it immediately. He warned that the government has made the registration mandatory for every medical professional.
The council has not set any deadline for registration, thus making it an open process.
