Ram Gopal Varma recently addressed swirling rumors about the casting of his upcoming film Syndicate, which speculated names like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Manoj Bajpayee.

Ram Gopal Varma quashes rumors about Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil starring in his upcoming film Syndicate.

Speculations had been running wild ever since director Ram Gopal Varma announced his upcoming project Syndicate, with reports linking Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and acclaimed actors Fahadh Faasil and Manoj Bajpayee to key roles. However, RGV has now stepped forward to dismiss these rumors, putting to rest the swirling buzz around the film’s cast.

A report from Telugu 360 previously suggested that Syndicate would feature an ensemble cast bridging Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. It claimed that Amitabh Bachchan was slated for an extended cameo, while Tollywood actor Venkatesh Daggubati was in talks for a lead role with a 35-day shoot schedule. Additionally, Fahadh Faasil, Manoj Bajpayee, and Anurag Kashyap were reportedly being approached for pivotal roles. The report also speculated that the film would commence production in mid-February.

On Saturday, Ram Gopal Varma took to X (formerly Twitter) to quash these rumors. “There are all kinds of speculations going around the casting of Syndicate, which are all completely FALSE. Will share the details when ready,” the filmmaker wrote, clearing the air.

The announcement didn’t dampen fans’ excitement, as several took to the comments to express their eagerness and share their dream casting ideas. “Please cast Manoj Bajpayee and Anurag Kashyap,” one user wrote, while another simply said, “Waiting, boss!”

Ram Gopal Varma has revealed that Syndicate will delve into the rise of a chilling criminal organization that threatens India’s very fabric. Sharing insights about the film’s concept on X, he emphasized that while street gangs were once seen as a significant threat, the real danger today stems from the emergence of powerful syndicates. These groups, he explained, comprise a sinister nexus of political factions, law enforcement, ultra-wealthy business magnates, and even military operatives.

The director also highlighted how today’s intense polarization in the country creates fertile ground for such an ominous syndicate to rise. Unlike a supernatural horror film, RGV described Syndicate as a terrifying exploration of human nature’s darkest truths and the cyclical nature of crime and terror. “Crime and terror never die; they keep coming back in deadlier forms,” he remarked, shedding light on the chilling themes of the film.

In a bold statement, RGV vowed to redeem his cinematic legacy with Syndicate. “I took a VOW to WASH AWAY all my CINEMA SINS that I committed over the PAST FEW YEARS with this JUST one SINGLE film called SYNDICATE,” he wrote. Promising an intense and realistic narrative, he assured audiences that Syndicate would be a film that horrifies not with the supernatural, but with its unflinching portrayal of humanity’s potential for darkness.
