Rakesh Roshan recalls a restaurant incident where a drunk man abused him and Jeetendra.
In the glittering world of fame and stardom, being in the spotlight often comes with its own challenges. Actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently shared a candid anecdote that underscores the flipside of being a public figure. Recalling a moment of confrontation that left him both furious and reflective, Rakesh credited veteran actor Jeetendra for teaching him a valuable lesson in navigating fame.
During a conversation with Fever FM, Rakesh shared an incident involving a drunk man at a restaurant, revealing how Jeetendra’s composed demeanor diffused a potentially volatile situation. “Once Jeetendra and I were sitting at a restaurant. There was a drunk man sitting right in front of us. For some reason, he began to abuse us, taking our names. I was furious looking at this. I said Jeetendra, ‘Jeetu, I think we should speak to him.’ Jeetu said, ‘Let’s go. Let’s keep quiet. We don’t know him, he knows us. So we are soft targets.’ So, we walked away from there. That was the lesson I learnt from him.”
Rakesh Roshan’s reflections on this encounter come as he takes center stage in The Roshans, a Netflix documentary chronicling his family’s illustrious legacy in Indian cinema. The four-episode series delves into the journey of the Roshans, starting with his father, the legendary music composer Roshan, and highlights the contributions of his brother Rajesh Roshan and son Hrithik Roshan.
In the documentary, Rakesh candidly discussed his transition from acting to directing, admitting that his career as an actor didn’t yield the success he had hoped for. Turning to filmmaking proved to be a turning point, with hits like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai launching Hrithik Roshan’s career and the Krrish franchise cementing Rakesh’s reputation as a visionary director. While fans eagerly await updates on Krrish 4, there’s no official word yet on its release.
