A petition filed by Punjagutta police of Hyderabad seeking a direction to go ahead with the investigation of a criminal case registered against T. Harish Rao of BRS and former police officer P. Radha Kishan Rao will be heard by Telangana High Court on Friday, February 21.

The Punjagutta police on Thursday moved the HC on this matter by way of a lunch motion. Justice K. Lakshman of the HC, after hearing contentions of Public Prosecutor for Home Palle Nageshwar Rao, posted the matter to Friday for hearing.

Harish Rao and Radha Kishan Rao were made the accused in the criminal case registered based on a complaint registered by G. Chakradhar Goud, a businessman who entered the political fray by contesting from Siddipet constituency as BSP nominee. Two days ago, the judge had passed an order directing the Punjagutta police to stop the ongoing investigation into the case till March 3.

Three other accused in the same case, Vamshikrishina, Santosh Kumar and Parashuramulu, who had been remanded in judicial custody, were granted bail by the lower court. However, the Punjagutta police had already filed a petition in the lower court seeking their custody for further questioning to elicit their complicity in the case.

The police stated that the lower court would not grant them custody of the remaining three accused in the backdrop of the HC stalling probe in the case. Since this would hamper the investigation, the police requested the HC to lift the order of stopping the probe or pass appropriate orders to secure custody of the accused.

While Santosh Kumar was accused of selling SIM cards to Vamshikrishna and Parashuramulu, the latter allegedly used the SIM cards purchased from him to make threatening phone calls to Chakradhar Goud. In a separate matter, Justice K. Lakshman of the HC would hear on Friday a petition filed by former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and T. Harish Rao seeking a direction to set aside Bhupalapally district court over corruption in Kaleshwaram project.
