Snoop Dogg is celebrating becoming a grandfather again! His daughter, Cori Broadus, recently shared the heartwarming news that she and her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, have welcomed their first child together. However, Cori’s journey to motherhood was far from easy.
In an emotional Instagram post, she revealed that her baby girl arrived much earlier than expected—at just 25 weeks. Alongside a touching black-and-white photo of her newborn’s tiny foot, Cori opened up about the whirlwind of emotions she’s been experiencing.
“Our princess arrived at 6 months. I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what, God always shows me that He’s got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today, and she’s the best!! Thank You, God, for getting me this far,” she wrote.
Despite the challenges, Cori’s message was one of resilience, gratitude, and unwavering love for her baby girl.
Cori also shared that she had to undergo a C-section. In a post on Instagram Stories from the hospital, she shared a photo of herself on the operating table.
“1st C-section was a success:) s/o to the man up above,” she captioned the post.
She later revealed the serious health issue that led to her early delivery. In her second post on Instagram Stories, Cori explained that she initially went to the doctor on February 27, thinking she “just had a bad case of gas.” However, doctors diagnosed her with HELLP syndrome, a rare and dangerous pregnancy complication linked to preeclampsia.
“I was developing HELLP syndrome which is severe and can even cause death if untreated. Doctors told me to thank you for coming and if I had waited a few more days, it would’ve been really bad. Ladies, please listen to your bodies and don’t believe everything you see on TikTok talking to myself lowkey),” she wrote.
Cori’s fiancé Deuce, and her mother, Shante Broadus, celebrated the birth by reposting the baby’s photo on their Instagram Stories.
Cori is the youngest of three children born to Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus. She has two older brothers – Corde, 30, and Cordell, 28. Snoop also has another son, Julian, 26, from a previous relationship.
Cori’s baby girl marks the rapper’s eighth grandchild. He is grandfather to Corde’s four children -Zion, Elleven, Sky and the late Kai, who passed away at just 10 days old in 2019. Cordell, on the other hand, has three kids – Cordoba, 5, Chateau, 3 and Symphony Sol who will turn two in May.
Snoop has always spoken fondly about being a grandfather. In an interview with People, he said, “My grandkids are my everything because they all individually get a piece of my heart and they’re different.”
