
Polit Bureau coordinator Prakash Karat will inaugurate the CPI(M) Kerala State conference scheduled to be held in Kollam from March 6 to 9, said Finance Minister and welcome committee chairperson K. N. Balagopal at a press meet here on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Polit Bureau members M.A. Baby, B.V. Raghavalu, Brinda Karat, Subhashini Ali, Ashok Dhawale, A. Vijayaraghavan, M.V. Govindan Master, Central Secretariat member Vijoo Krishnan and Central Committee member Sindhu A.R will participate.
State Secretary M.V.Govindan Master will inaugurate the march carrying flag led by State Secretariat member M.Swaraj in Kayyur on March 1.
Kollam district will receive the procession at Enathu on March 5 at 12 noon. The The torchlight relay led by State Secretariat member P.K. Biju will be inaugurated by Polit Bureau member A. Vijayaraghavan in Vayalar on March 3.
Kollam will receive the procession at Oachira Prayar Junction on March 4 at 4 pm. The procession carrying the flag mast led by Central Committee Member C.S. Sujatha will be inaugurated by M.A. Baby in Sooranad on March 5 at 9.30 a.m.
All three processions will converge at Asramam maidan on the evening of March 5.
Welcome committee chairperson K.N. Balagopal will hoist the flag at Sitaram Yechury Nagar at Asramam maidan. The torches from the 23 martyrs’ columns in the district will be installed at Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Nagar.
“The party and the public in Kollam are enthusiastically coming together to make the State conference a success. As part of the conference, a parade of 25,000 Red Volunteers and a mass rally attended by 200,000 people will be held. A cultural festival that includes seminars on various topics, an elaborate history exhibition, and the revival of forgotten art and sports forms are being held in connection with the conference.
All-India boxing, cricket, football, volleyball, kilithattu, kayaking, kabaddi, and beach volleyball competitions have been completed. Local committees will organise a large-scale two-wheeler proclamation rally on Saturday, March 1 from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.,” said Mr Balagopal.
