
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) founder Abdul Nasir Maudany underwent a kidney transplant at a private hospital here on Thursday (February 27).
His condition remains stable and he continues to be under observation at the intensive care unit, according to officials at the Medical Trust Hospital in Kochi on Friday. The transplant was required in view of his chronic kidney condition.
A communication issued by Muhammed Rajeeb, State general secretary of the PDP, said that he had been undergoing medical treatment for long in view of the serious ailments, following renal failure.
His health condition is being closely monitored by the experts at the hospital. His wife, Sufiya Maudany, son Salahudheen Ayoobi, and PDP leaders are at the hospital, it added.
