The Shivamogga police, on Monday, arrested a person who allegedly attempted to steal money after breaking open an ATM kiosk on Nehru Road in the heart of Shivamogga city. The police succeeded in arresting the accused within a few hours of receiving the complaint from the bank.

The manager of Canara Bank complained to Kote police in Shivamogga on the night of January 26 that an unknown person attempted to take away money from the ATM kiosk. The police swung into action soon after receiving information.

The police arrested Mohammed Vaseem, 22, a construction worker and native of Bihar. Under the guidance of SP G.K. Mithun Kumar, Additional SP Anil Kumar, Additional SP-2, A.G. Cariappa, and Dy.SP Babu Anjanappa, Kote CPI Harish K. Patel, PSI Santhosh Bhagoji and their staff arrested the accused within a few hours of committing the crime.
