Singer-musician Arjun Kanungo, popular for his smash hits Fursat and Aaya Na Tu, has offered a glimpse into his love story with South African influencer Carla Dennis. The two, who married in August 2022 in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai, crossed paths a decade ago. On his first meeting with the influencer, the singer knew she was “the one”.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, the 34-year-old, celebrating Valentine’s Day with his wife in Jaipur, opened up about the special moment. “It was the first day, first show, man,” he confessed, adding, “I knew she was the one the day I met her. We met before we shot our first music video, and it just went on from there.” Speaking about his trip to Jaipur, Arjun revealed that they decided on a “small, quick vacation” just for the two of them to celebrate February 14.
While the Tu Na Mera singer is head over heels for his wife, he admitted that her kind nature, although endearing, can sometimes get “annoying.” He gushed, “She is the most caring person I have ever come across. She will always make sure you are happy and feeling alright. It is one of the sweetest things about her.”
During the same conversation, the singer took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about their romantic proposal. Arjun, who was determined to make the moment an unforgettable one, knew that he could not pop the question in Mumbai. He recalled the time he was “anxiously” waiting for the COVID restriction to be lifted, and the moment there were relaxations in the regulations, the couple jetted off to Dubai. “I made a ring out of my grandmother’s earring. So it was really special,” he revealed.
In the end, Arjun reflected on their relationship, acknowledging that they had grown together, both as individuals and as a couple. However, one thing has remained constant. The singer mentioned, “I’m still crazy about her,” as he ended the interview on a sweet note.
Arjun and Carla exchanged vows in August 2024 at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. The two opted for traditional Indian ensembles for the wedding. While the South African influencer wore a gorgeous red Sabyasachi lehenga set, the singer complemented her in a white sherwani.
