Anupam Kher is celebrating his 70th birthday today. Wishes have been pouring in for the veteran actor from all sides. Marking the special occasion, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute, posting a series of throwback pictures capturing his memories with his first co-actor and acting guru. The nostalgic snapshots on Instagram featured Neil, Sonam Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Anupam Kher from the sets of their film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
In another snapshot, there are some candid photos of the Saaho actor with Anupam Kher. But the most intriguing click was the last picture that showed young Neil and Anupam Kher during the shooting of the 1988 movie Vijay. Alongside the pictures, the actor also wrote a heartfelt birthday note for the 70-year-old man. He recalled his ‘PRDP’ days and expressed gratitude for getting the opportunity to learn from one of the finest actors of our country and also a brilliant human being.
Regarding Anupam Kher, his ‘first acting guru,’ Neil penned, “Happiest birthday, dearest @anupampkher uncle. From being my first co-star in Vijay to my first acting guru at Actor Prepares first batch to the three films together, God has given me the opportunity of learning and respecting not just one of the finest actors our country has produced but also a brilliant human being. Love you loads. Have the best year ahead.”
Boman Irani also penned the sweetest birthday wish for his friend. The actor shared a myriad of photos with the veteran actor and talked about their friendship in the caption. In the heartfelt note, he wrote, “I was going through my photo album to pick out a nice photo for my friend’s birthday. A photo that would represent our friendship. One photo is tough enough. So four? Yes, luckily I did find some lovely memories. And here they are. But as I was going through the albums, it was the stuff of the times in between these images that came gushing through. Memories that brought a little happy tear to me.”

On the cinematic front, Neil Nitin Mukesh is currently seen in Ashwni Dhir’s satirical action comedy Hisaab Barabar. The film features R Madhavan, Rashami Desai, Kirti Kulhari, and Faisal Rashid in lead roles. The story, now streaming on ZEE5, revolves around a railway ticket checker who stumbles upon discrepancies in minor bank transactions, leading to a shocking discovery about systemic corruption.
Anupam Kher, on the other hand, was recently seen in Kangana Ranaut’s political drama Emergency. The 70-year-old man has been a part of around 522 films till now and will next appear in the upcoming film Tumko Meri Kasam, directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film also stars Adah Sharma, Ishwak Singh and Esha Deol in key roles.
