Naga Chaitanya is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie, Thandel. Recently, the actor attended the film’s trailer launch event in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, when he also talked about his wife, actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who also hails from the city. Chay called Sobhita a ‘Vizag girl’ and urged everyone to watch his film.
“Vizag is so close to my heart that I fell in love with a Vizag girl and married her. Now, there’s a piece of Vizag in my home too. Even in my household, the ruling party is Vizag. So, brothers, I have a small request—Thandel should rock Vizag’s box office; otherwise, I’ll lose my honour at home. Please!” he said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala tied the knot on December 4, 2024, at the Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. Nagarjuna also shared their first official wedding pictures and welcomed Sobhita to the family.
“Watching Sobhita and Chay begin this beautiful chapter together has been a special and emotional moment for me. Congratulations to my beloved Chay, and welcome to the family dear Sobhita—you’ve already brought so much happiness into our lives. This celebration holds even deeper meaning as it unfolds under the blessings of ANR garu’s statue, installed to mark his centenary year. It feels as though his love and guidance are present with us in every step of this journey. I thank the countless blessings showered upon us today with gratitude. 🙏 #SoChay #SobhitaDhulipala @chay_akkineni,” he wrote.
Talking about Thandel, the film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and also stars Sai Pallavi in the lead. Chay will be seen playing the role of a fisherman in the movie. Thandel was initially supposed to hit theatres during Sankranthi in January but it was then postponed. The film will now hit theatres on February 7 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
