The Long Distance and MMTS Travellers Association has appealed to the South Central Railway (SCR) authorities to consider introducing more MMTS between Medchal and Secunderabad between 8.40 a.m. and 2.15 p.m.
There are three MMTS services (47251, 47241 & 47185) running from Medchal to Falaknuma between 1.20 p.m. and 2.15 p.m. which are odd hours and there are no MMTS services from Medchal to Secunderabad between 8.40 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Hence, the association has called for revision in timings of MMTS services in Secunderabad-Medchal section and also provision of early morning MMTS service between Medchal and Falaknuma for boarding 20703/04 Vande Bharat train at Kacheguda.
An evening train should also be introduced from Medchal to Kachedguda for the same purpose. The association also sought revamp of the existing Medak-Kacheguda DEMU service and extend it upto Sircilla upon commissioning of the line.
The authorities have been requested to consider extending 12861/62 Visakhapatnam-Mahabubnagar Express upto Kurnool City/Mantralayam Road for the benefit of devotees of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. Similarly, 17023/24 Tungabhadra Express can be extended up to Dhone from Cherlapall for the benefit of passengers living in and around Dhone, Nandyal and Gooty.
Association president Noor Mohd and assistant general secretary P. Bharadwaj presented a memorandum to the principal chief commercial manager N.Ramesh recently on their charter of demands at a rail users meeting. Another demand is to resume halts of various express trains like Jaipur-Kurnool, Jaipur-Mysuru, Hyderabad-Hisar and others at the Malkajgiri station once the redevelopment works are completed, said a press release.
