Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has unveiled the teaser for his highly anticipated film, The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter. The teaser, shared on the YouTube channel of Abhishek Agarwal Arts on Sunday, offers a gripping first look at actor Mithun Chakraborty in a powerful and haunting avatar.
In the teaser, Mithun is seen walking through a desolate corridor, sporting a rugged look with a white beard. His character recites the Preamble to the Constitution of India with a burnt tongue, reflecting a deep emotional and symbolic layer. Limping and visibly weary, Mithun’s character leans against a wall as the teaser concludes, leaving a lasting impression.
The film promises to uncover a significant yet lesser-known chapter of Indian history, focusing on the poignant Bengal tragedy. According to the synopsis, The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter is “a deeply emotional film that brings a significant chapter of Indian history to life on a grand scale. With impactful storytelling, breathtaking visuals, and stellar performances, the film aims to deliver a thought-provoking and unforgettable cinematic journey.”
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film delves into India’s complex history, politics, and social dynamics. Jointly produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi, and presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha Productions, the film is set to release worldwide on August 15, 2025.

The journey of The Delhi Files began in November last year, when Vivek Agnihotri announced the start of filming. Sharing the news on social media, he wrote, “SHUBHARAMBH! With your blessings, the shooting of #TheDelhiFiles began today. A puja was conducted by all the devis of the crew. O Mother! Please give us the courage to tell this difficult tale with utmost honesty and fearlessly.” In October, Vivek revealed that the film would be released in two parts, further raising expectations for this thought-provoking historical drama.
