Bhumi Pednekar will be seen in a new avatar in Mudassar Aziz’s romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi. Adding to the excitement, the makers dropped the film’s first song, Gori Hai Kalaiyan. To keep the buzz alive, Bhumi shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram on Saturday.
In the video, the Badhaai Do actress could be spotted rehearsing her dance steps during breaks with infectious energy and a beaming smile. Dressed in a gorgeous ethnic ensemble featuring a beautiful flared skirt and a strappy, intricately embroidered blouse, Bhumi flaunted her toned physique. While she was focused on practising the dance moves, the background dancers patiently waited for her.
Sharing the video, Bhumi wrote, “BetweenTakes #GoriHaiKalaiyan” and asked her Instagram followers, “Kaisa laga humara song and dance.” Soon many of her fans took to the comments section and praised Bhumi’s killer moves.
Speaking of Gori Hai Kalaiyan, the revamped track is a remake of the 90s hit of the same name. The original track was from Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada’s 1990 film Aaj Ka Arjun and was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar. The latest dance number features Bhumi Pednekar, Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh. Sung by Badshah and Kanika Kapoor, the track promises to be the ultimate vibe of the season.
On February 6, the makers released Gori Hai Kalaiyan. “Videsi na bhaaye, jab DESI saje, arre woh Party hi kya, jahan kuch FILMY na baje!” they wrote while sharing the song.
Mere Husband Ki Biwi revolves around Arjun Kapoor’s character, Ankur, who finds himself stuck between his ex-wife, played by Bhumi Pednekar, and his fiancée, played by Rakul Preet Singh. The Mudassar Aziz directorial promises to be filled with chaos and humour. Produced by Pooja Entertainment, the film is set to be released in theatres on February 21.
Bhumi Pednekar has two other projects lined up after the release of this rom-com. She will next be seen in the web shows Daldal and The Royals.
