Gulmohar marked 2 years since its release on 3 March 2023. Starring Sharmila Tagore and Manoj Bajpayee, the movie received the highest recognition in Hindi cinema, winning the Best Hindi Film award at the National Film Awards 2024. Directed by Rahul V. Chittella, Gulmohar has won many hearts with its stellar cast and emotional tale. Recently, Manoj Bajpayee took to his Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt note expressing his gratitude to the audience.
Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the sets, he added a wholehearted caption with the post, writing, “#2YearsOfGulmohar and this film still feels like home. Some stories don’t fade; they grow and become a part of you. #Gulmohar is one of those. From winning the hearts of audiences to receiving multiple National Awards and other prestigious accolades, this journey for the entire team has been incredible.”
He further praised the makers for making such a soulful movie. “A huge shoutout to our director @rahulchittella and writer #ArpitaMukherjee for shaping this story with such depth and sincerity and to everyone who brought it to life. And most of all, to the audience who embraced it and found a piece of themselves in it,” he added.

Well! It’s not the first time Manoj Bajpayee has talked about Gulmohar’s emotional impact on the audience. During FICCI Frames 2023, Manoj Bajpayee recalled that her daughter cried in the bathroom after watching the film. He said, “Once the film ended, my daughter went to the washroom and cried so loudly that I could feel it.”
She first refused to speak when she came out with swollen eyes, but she eventually acknowledged that Sharmila Tagore’s dadi made her think of her late “Nani,” making the encounter extremely emotional and personal for her.
