New Arunachal armed group’s members told to come overground

Those who had been to Mantri Mall, Malleshwaram for shopping or to watch a movie were in for a shock on Thursday night when a middle-aged man suddenly climbed over the railings and jumped to his death from the second floor. He landed in a pool of blood onto the ground and was killed on the spot.

Security guards immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared ‘brought dead.’ Malleshwaram Police rushed to the spot and identified the deceased as Manjunath T.C., 55, a resident of Ullal Upanagar in the city. Hailing from Tiptur, Tumakuru district, he was running a business in the city. CCTV footage shows that he walked into the mall, straight went to the second floor and jumped to his death. Police have found a death note in his pocket, in which he has blamed his financial problems for his extreme step. Preliminary inquiry has revealed that he was caught in a debt trap of around ₹2 crore and was unable to repay his loans.

Malleshwaram Police have informed his family members, booked a case of unnatural death and are further probing the case.
