A 32-year-old farmer was found dead withhead injuries near his house near Kilpennathur town in Tiruvannamalai on Wednesday. The police said that the deceased has been identified as S. Karthikeyan, of Sirunathur village. He was living with his extended family in the village.
Initial inquiry revealed that Karthikeyan was working at the backyard of his house, when three unknown persons attacked him with iron rods, and fled the spot.
Family members and neighbours alerted Kilpennathur police and a case has been registered. Special teams have been formed to nab the accused. A probe is underway.
