Liam Payne To Feature As Guest Judge In Singing Reality Show 3 Months After His Death

Late singer Liam Payne will feature in an upcoming singing reality show on Netflix. It has been revealed that the former One Direction singer will appear as a guest judge in the show, Building the Band, alongside Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland. This singing reality show was one of the last projects that Liam worked on before his tragic death in October 2024.

Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Autopsy reports revealed that the singer had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system at the time of his death. Police officials are still investigating drug angle in Payne’s death.

Liam’s funeral was held outside London. Several photos from his last rites surfaced on social media, leaving fans emotional. Liam’s One Direction band members – Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan also attended the funeral and paid their last tributes.

Members of One Direction also issued a statement and mentioned that they were “completely devastated” following Liam’s death. “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly,” a part of their statement read.

Recently, it was also revealed that Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan are also likely to reunite at the upcoming BRIT Awards to honour Liam Payne. However, no official announcement regarding this has been made as of now.

Payne soared to global fame as part of One Direction, the group that was created on the British talent show “The X Factor” in 2010. However, the singers of the band subsequently embarked on solo careers, after going on an “indefinite hiatus” in 2016.
